Children’s author continues to inspire a whole new generation of kids

Starry−eyed students at David A. Boody Junior High School took to the stage for a musical tribute to Brooklyn−born children’s scribe and illustrator Maurice Bernard Sendak.
The talented crew transformed the auditorium of the school, 228 Avenue S, into a modern−day vaudeville show hall as they put forth a rollicking repertoire of song and dance routines, showcasing the writer, best known for his book, “Where the Wild Things Are”, published in 1963.
An elementary school in North Hollywood, California, is named in Sendak’s honor.
