Kim should not emulate Ackerman

Kevin Kim, the winner of the Democratic primary for City Councilman Tony Avella’s (D-Bayside) seat, proudly touts the endorsement he received from U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-Bayside).
Ackerman refused to meet with his constituents in a town hall forum to discuss important topics such as the revamping of the health care system. Ackerman by his actions has shown he has contempt for his constituents and lacks the courage to meet with them and hear their concerns.
Let us hope Kim, should he become our councilman, will not follow Ackerman’s example and refuse to meet and interact with his constituents.
